Psilocybin & Retreat

What can I expect from a psilocybin journey?

A psilocybin experience can create space to encounter thoughts, emotions, and perspectives that may be difficult to access in everyday life. Many people describe a greater sense of openness, self-awareness, emotional connection, and a different way of seeing familiar patterns.

Research suggests that psilocybin may temporarily increase psychological and neural flexibility, which can create an opportunity to reconsider entrenched ways of thinking and responding. The experience itself is only part of the process, however. At Psyki, we place equal importance on preparation and integration, helping you approach the journey with intention and make meaningful sense of what emerges afterwards.

What are the potential benefits of psilocybin truffles?

Psilocybin-containing fungi have a long history of ceremonial and traditional use, while modern scientific research has explored their effects for several decades. Studies suggest that psilocybin may influence mood, perception, cognition, and patterns of thinking, while also opening space for experiences of connection, meaning, and self-reflection.

Research is continuing into its potential role in areas such as depression, anxiety, addiction, and persistent behavioural patterns. At Psyki, we approach these possibilities with care and curiosity, recognising that the experience is deeply individual and that preparation, setting, and integration are central to making sense of what emerges.

How do I know if psilocybin is right for me?

Whether psilocybin is appropriate for you depends on both your physical and psychological wellbeing, as well as where you are in your life at the moment. Certain health conditions and medications may make psilocybin unsuitable, which is why careful screening and honest preparation are important before any experience.

Timing matters too. It can be helpful to consider whether you have the emotional space, stability, and support to engage with whatever may arise. At Psyki, preparation is designed to help you reflect on your intentions, understand the experience, and decide whether this is the right moment for you.

How do I get the most from my experience?

A meaningful psilocybin experience begins well before the journey itself. Thoughtful preparation can help you arrive feeling grounded, informed, and clear about your intentions.

At Psyki, we support you with practical guidance around preparation, including what to expect, how to approach the day, and how to create the right conditions for the experience. We also introduce simple psychological and mindfulness-based practices to help you settle into the process with greater openness and awareness.

What happens afterwards matters just as much. Integration helps you reflect on what emerged and consider how those insights may be carried into everyday life.

Are magic truffles safe?

Psilocybin truffles are generally well tolerated when approached responsibly, with thoughtful preparation and in a supportive setting. They are not considered addictive, and the experience is temporary.

At Psyki, we place great importance on creating the right conditions for your journey. This includes careful screening, clear preparation, and attentive support throughout the experience, so you can approach it feeling informed, comfortable, and well held.

Are magic truffles legal?

Yes. Fresh psilocybin truffles can be legally purchased and used in the Netherlands. This makes the Netherlands one of the few places where people can explore psilocybin in a lawful setting.

Elsewhere, laws vary considerably, although interest in psychedelic-assisted approaches continues to grow and regulations are evolving in a number of countries.

What dosage will I receive?

At Psyki, dosing is never approached as one-size-fits-all. The amount offered is considered individually, taking into account your previous experience, intentions, overall wellbeing, and the context of your retreat.

We use legal, fresh psilocybin truffles in the Netherlands, and the experience typically unfolds over several hours. Your dosage is discussed with you in advance so the journey can be approached thoughtfully, responsibly, and with the level of support that feels right for you.

What should I know about the truffles?

The truffles used at Psyki are fresh, natural psilocybin truffles and are not processed or mixed with additional ingredients.

For safety, they are not suitable for everyone. Psilocybin should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in combination with alcohol or recreational drugs, or before driving. Certain medications and medical or psychological conditions may also require additional consideration.

Before your experience, we review these points with you as part of the screening and preparation process so you can approach the journey with clarity and confidence.

Can I take truffles while using medication?

Some medications can interact with psilocybin or make a psychedelic experience unsuitable, so it is important to discuss any medication you take before proceeding.

As part of the Psyki screening process, we review your current medication and relevant health information with you. In some cases, we may ask you to consult your doctor or prescribing clinician before taking part. You should never stop or change prescribed medication solely in order to attend a retreat without medical guidance.

If anything is unclear, we can help you understand what information may need to be reviewed before your experience.

Are there any contraindications to consider?

Yes. Psilocybin is not suitable for everyone, which is why screening is an important part of the Psyki experience.

We take particular care where there is a history of psychosis or certain serious psychiatric conditions, significant cardiovascular concerns, pregnancy or breastfeeding, or the use of medications that may interact with psilocybin.

Before your retreat, we review your health history, current medication, and any relevant concerns with you so that participation can be considered carefully and responsibly.

Are there any contraindications to consider?

Please carefully review the following before taking part in a Psyki experience:

  • You are not currently experiencing a serious physical or mental health condition that may make psilocybin unsuitable.
  • You have no personal history of psychosis and no close family history of schizophrenia or related psychotic disorders.
  • You are not taking medication that may interact with psilocybin.
  • You do not have significant cardiovascular concerns.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.

All participants complete a screening process before their retreat so that any relevant health considerations can be reviewed carefully.

Is payment in instalments possible?

Yes. For retreats booked more than two months in advance, payment can be divided into three instalments.

  • The first instalment is paid when you reserve your retreat.
  • The remaining two instalments are paid before your experience begins.
  • We will agree the payment schedule with you in advance, so everything is clear and easy to plan.

The Psyki Collective

What is the purpose of the Psyki community?

The Psyki community is designed to support you before, during, and beyond your psychedelic experience. It brings together thoughtful education, guided practices, live workshops, and ongoing conversations to help you feel informed, prepared, and connected.

It is a space to deepen your understanding, reflect on your experiences, and continue exploring psychology, consciousness, and personal growth within a supportive community.

How can I access and benefit from the masterclasses?

Psyki masterclasses are available through our Circle community, where you can access guided learning, workshops, and practical resources in one place.

Depending on your retreat or programme, selected masterclasses may already be included as part of your experience. They can also be accessed separately.

Each masterclass is designed to help you feel more informed and prepared, covering key aspects of psilocybin, preparation, mindset, integration, and personal reflection so you can approach your experience with greater clarity and confidence.

Are the masterclasses included, or do they cost extra?

Selected Psyki masterclasses are included with certain retreats and programmes, giving you access to additional preparation, education, and integration support through our Circle community.

Masterclasses can also be joined separately if you would like to explore a particular topic without booking a retreat. Any included access or additional fees will be clearly outlined when you book.

How do the masterclasses enhance my experience?

The Psyki masterclasses are designed to help you approach your experience with greater clarity, confidence, and intention. They offer thoughtful guidance around psilocybin, preparation, mindset, and integration, helping you understand both the journey itself and how to work with what emerges.

Through guided content, reflective exercises, mindfulness practices, and curated audio, the masterclasses support you before and after your retreat—helping you feel prepared, grounded, and better able to carry meaningful insights into everyday life.
